ELIZA MAE

Eliza Hedeman-Brown, from Carrboro, North Carolina, is a singer-songwriter and Musical Theatre BFA student at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Known for her raspy, soulful powerhouse vocals, Eliza blends indie rock, country, and soul influences to craft songs that explore love, loss, and the longing to belong.

Her musical journey is deeply personal: born with a hearing loss, Eliza once believed that a future in music was out of reach. But her passion couldn’t be silenced. She found her confidence during the pandemic, when time slowed down enough for her to listen to herself. That turning point launched a series of bold steps—from her first stage role in Legally Blonde to a breakout high school talent show performance and, eventually, to fronting her own music.

Eliza has performed with her father’s bands since childhood at regional festivals including Carrboro Music Festival, Shakori Hills, River Park Concert, and the All Y’all New Year’s Ball. Now, she’s stepping into her own spotlight with the release of her debut single “Don’t Know How,” dropping May 1.

Eliza has forged a path that proves the power of perseverance and a defiant love for music. With a sound unlike anyone else’s and a story that resonates far beyond the stage, Eliza is just getting started—and her voice is one you won’t forget.
